Four things we do, and one standard we hold to all of them: licensed, insured, quoted in writing, and finished when we said.
Jason started J&J Professional Handyman Services, LLC in 2015 after watching his own neighbor wait eleven weeks for a roofer who took a deposit and disappeared. He'd been swinging a hammer since he was nineteen, and he was tired of the whole trade wearing that reputation. So the rule was simple from day one: answer the phone, show up on the day, and put the price in writing.
We're still a small crew, and we like it that way. We don't sub the work out to whoever's cheapest that week — the people on your roof are on our payroll, and they carry our name on their shirt. We're licensed, bonded, and carry $2M in liability plus full workers' comp, and you'll get the certificate before we ever pull into your driveway. Most of our work comes from a neighbor pointing at the house next door, and we'd like to keep it that way.
Get My Free Estimate →Roofing, repairs, tile and exteriors — handled by one accountable crew instead of four companies who each blame the other. From a $200 punch list to a full tear-off, it's the same phone number and the same standard.
Full tear-offs, targeted repairs, and honest storm assessments. We tear off to the deck and inspect it — overlays only when the deck and code actually allow it, never because it's faster for us. Ice-and-water shield at every eave and valley, proper ridge and soffit ventilation so your shingles don't cook from underneath, and a manufacturer-backed system (GAF and Owens Corning) so your warranty is real.
One call for the whole punch list. Doors that stick, drywall that's cracked, trim that never got finished, a ceiling fan, a leaking hose bib, that one shelf your spouse has mentioned four times. No job is too small — we'd rather knock out six little things in an afternoon than have you call six different guys who never call back.
The part hacks skip is the part that matters: subfloor prep and waterproofing. We flatten and reinforce the subfloor, then run a real waterproofing system — Schluter or RedGard — before a single tile goes down. That's why our showers don't leak into the joists and our grout lines still look sharp five years in. Tile, LVP, hardwood, and full bathroom and kitchen floors.
Siding, gutters, decks, fascia, soffit and trim — the outside of your house is one system, and water finds every gap in it. We repair and replace siding and trim, hang seamless gutters sized and pitched to actually move water away from your foundation, and rebuild decks that have gone soft. Indiana weather is hard on a house; we build for it.
Same crew, same standard, scaled to whatever you need.
Your house is the biggest thing you own and you're trusting a stranger with it. So we over-explain: we photograph what we find, show you the rot before we cover it, and put every line item in writing. You'll know what we're doing, what it costs, and when we'll be done — before we start.
Multi-unit, rental portfolios, small commercial buildings and HOAs. You need a contractor who returns calls, works around tenants, and sends paperwork that survives an audit. We do standing repair rates, scheduled inspections, and one point of contact who actually picks up.
The same sequence on every job, whether it's a $300 repair or a $20,000 roof.
A real appointment window, and we keep it. We get on the roof or under the sink, photograph what we find, and show you the pictures — including the parts that are still fine.
In your inbox within 24–48 hours. Materials, labor, tear-off, disposal, permits — line by line. Financing options included if it's a big number. Then we leave you alone to think about it.
Same crew, on the day we promised, with a text when we're 30 minutes out. Site tarped, debris hauled, magnetic nail sweep every single evening before we go home.
We walk it with you and you tell us what you see. Anything at all, we fix it on the spot. Only after you're satisfied do we send a bill — and it matches the quote.
Don't see your question? Call us directly — we answer our own phones most of the time.
